8. Dean Saying Yes To Michael
Did Dean really think Michael was going to stay true to his word after he said yes to letting him possess his body?
After Dean finds out in the early seasons that he was the Archangel’s true vessel, he makes the correct choice by saying no to Michael back in Season 5. However, Dean decides to go back on that decision in Season 13 saying yes to Apocalypse-world Michael so he could do what he was meant to do years ago and defeat Lucifer.
After years of not trusting archangels and following the rules because he believes they can make their own, Dean decided to throw away everything he believed in and trusted Michael to use his vessel as the Michael Sword. After Michael uses Dean to defeat and kill Lucifer, in an unsurprising twist everyone saw coming, Michael locks Dean in a mind prison and uses his body to commit terrible acts.
Many fans had a problem with Dean saying yes to Michael as it felt so out of character for the hero who would rather choose any other option than having someone use his body as a weapon.
