7. Opening The TARDIS Console With A Tow Truck
In the thrilling conclusion to Doctor Who's triumphant 21st century revival season (The Parting of the Ways), Rose Tyler and Mickey "the Idiot" raced against time to get back to the future and save Christopher Eccleston from the Daleks. Yet while the whole "Bad Wolf" story arc didn't hold up to close scrutiny, the real wibbly-wobbliness occurred when the pair tried to access the TARDIS's telepathic circuits via the console. This is a machine built by one of the most advanced civilizations in the universe. It can withstand being dropped into the bowels of a planet and has generated a "siege mode" where it becomes impregnable. But if you want to break into its heart? A mechanic's foot on the accelerator of a primitive Earth vehicle with a chain attached will get the job done. All Rose does is shout at Mickey to give it some welly and bish bash bosh you're staring into the vortex and acquiring all existing knowledge. Suffice to say, it wasn't the best advert for Time Lord technology, was it?
