4. Robert Pattinson Giselher, Sword Of Xanten
In an attempt to cash in on the success of The Lord of the Rings, 2004's Sword of Xanten (also known as Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King) saw a young Robert Pattinson appear in a sword and sorcery yarn involving dragons and treasure (sound familiar?). Based on Norse mythology, the story is inspired by Wagner's opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen, but Tolkien swore he didn't rip it off. And you'd tend to believe him, if this production is anything to go by. None of the acting is any good, the props are cheap and look terrible, and the CGI is noticeably tacked on. The Sword of Xanten was produced in Germany, for German TV, in English - go figure. Eventually it made it onto Channel 4 in the UK, and also onto American networks. It appeared on Sci-Fi a few years ago with about an hour's footage cut out - the stuff they left in must have been pure gold.
