9. Ben Drops Out Of College
Remember how out of his way Ross went to get his son Ben interested in Hanukkah? "It's the holiday Armadillo!" Good times. Remember how Ben responded positively, begging for more information about Judaism and even going as far as requesting a Dreidel as a Christmas present? Oh no, wait, that didn't happen, did it. He wanted to hang out with Santa and Superman instead. Don't we all, Ben. Don't we all. Well, as time has gone on, Ross's quest to fill his son's head with knowledge hasn't faltered, culminating in Ben being accepted into an Ivy League college to study, you've guessed it, palaeontology. But what has Ben gone and done? That's right, he's flourished under the sudden sense of freedom from his overbearing father, he's partied like it's 1999, and he's failed all of his exams. The question now is: how will Ross deal with his son's failure to live up to his great expectations? He sympathised with Monica as, in spite of her greatest efforts, she disappointed their mother, but how will he feel now that he finds himself in his mother's shoes?
