There was only ever gonna be one choice for the top spot in this list, where a fight went down in anime history despite one of the combatants not taking a single hit. And that is the short but glorious last stand of Mumen Rider against the Deep Sea King.

The Deep Sea King has stormed his way through literally every single hero in the good guys' roster, and with ultimate game shark Saitama occupied at the time, the monster is allowed free rein to reduce the city to rubble. Finally it's just him, a crowd of innocent people for him to slaughter, and standing firm between them is the humble Mumen Rider.

Dude knows damn well he can't win. He knows he's just delaying the inevitable, and that the Deep Sea King is more or less humouring him before he has his fun with the squishy humans behind him. But that's not what matters - what matters to Mumen Rider is doing the right thing, even when you know you're not gonna win. For no other reason than BECAUSE it is the right thing to do.

And the people actually start cheering for him, choosing to believe in him.

And of course he loses immediately. But that doesn't make him any less of a hero, and it doesn't stop this from being one of the best scenes in one of the best anime of the decade.
