10 Episodes That Made You Quit Your Favourite TV Shows

9. The Inner Circle (7.23) - The Office

After Michael Scott left The Office partway through the show's seventh season, there was a lingering feeling that things wouldn't be anywhere near as good - that without Michael to hinge the show upon, everything was doomed to fall apart. Whilst that never really happened to the extent that people presumably expected it to it, it did occur. It became clear that the show was destined for eternal mediocrity during the episode after Michael left, in fact.

The Inner Circle, which followed the brilliant and heart-wrenching Goodbye, Michael, was an episode that felt entirely alien without the show's best character at its core - pointless and arbitrary, even. The plot sees Will Ferrell's replacement boss, Deangelo, choosing his favourite employees and upsetting the staff. Lacking laughs, it marked an end of an era.

In all likelihood, if you quit The Office at any point, it was around the time of The Inner Circle (or a couple of episodes thereafter). It was a good time to go.
