10 Episodes That Made You Quit Your Favourite TV Shows

3. Song Beneath The Song (7.18) - Grey's Anatomy

Granted, there have been countless times across the span of medical drama Grey's Anatomy's run where a normal, civilised human being might have called it quits. The show - which is currently in its 12th season - has delivered some truly shocking and ill-judged episodes over the years, but none quit so awful as Song Beneath the Song, perhaps.

Nobody should have continued watching Grey's Anatomy after season seven, because this musical episode - an attempt on creator Shonda Rhimes' part to spice things up - was catastrophically cringeworthy, with a plot that honed in on Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) after they're involved in a vehicular collision.

Having the regular cast sing a number of super cliche songs ("How to Save a Life" by The Fray - because they're doctors, get it?) exposed a series on the brink of creative exhaustion, and even star Patrick Dempsey - who has since been written out - later said: "We had the singing episode, which I think was a big mistake." No kidding, Patrick.
