10 Essential Netflix Original Series Every Subscriber Must Watch

9. Master Of None

Master Of None
Netflix

Although not Netflix's funniest sitcom, Master of None is perhaps its most ambitious. On the one hand, the series serves as an artsy love-letter to everything from Italian cinema to the city of New York, but more crucially it also features some of the most realistic commentaries on dating and the awkwardness of adult relationships you'll find on the small screen.

The series deftly handles topics around race, religion, and sexuality, including a superb episode around coming out, while packing in plenty of laughs and a whole lot of charm.

All of that makes it slightly harder to watch in the wake of the allegations against Aziz Ansari, given how much this series gets right about romantic and sexual relationships, but while that may impact whether or not a third season happens, it shouldn't detract too much from the great work so many people did on this series.
