10 Essential TV Gay Couples For LGBT+ Pride Month 2020
9. Alex And Kelly - Supergirl
Alex Danvers' coming out story on Supergirl's second season was a groundbreaking achievement for superhero television, and it paved the way for one of the best same-sex pairings in recent TV memory through her relationship with Maggie Sawyer. And 'Sanvers' was so good that when actress Floriana Lima left the show in the third season, it was almost impossible to imagine Alex being with anyone else.
That said, when James Olsen's sister Kelly showed up, the chemistry between the two was nothing short of palpable.
Alex and Kelly instantly connected like old friends (thanks in no small part to the fact that they were at least aware of each other's existence beforehand), and their shared affection for James saw them quickly bond. However, when Alex began confiding in her about her desire to be a mother, that's when things began to fall into place for the future couple.
Kelly knows and supports Alex in ways that few others do. She's there for her whenever she needs her and refuses to give up on her (even when she's being pushed away). Likewise, Alex comes to life when she's around her girlfriend and it's nothing short of adorable to see them on-screen together.
They're such a good duo that it really would be nice if we could see them on-screen together a little more often. Here's hoping it happens in Season 6.
