10 Exact Moments You Raged Quit A TV Show

5. The Simpsons - The Principall Is An Imposter... But It Doesn't Matter?

Game Of Thrones

Ah the day The Simpsons died. That's what you get when you attempt to jump the shark - you get gobbled up by the angry, remorseless animal. The audience being the proverbial shark in this situation, of course.

The Simpsons got through eight entire seasons before committing this tragedy, a huge feat for such a long running show, but nevertheless, when season 9 rolled around, the dip in viewers and severe drop in relevancy pushed the showrunners into a corner. A corner they decided to wriggle out of by writing a pure shock value episode that had no actual impact or consequences.

The episode's plot revolves around the minor character of Principal Skinner. We find out, after 9 seasons, that Principal Skinner is an imposter! Born Armin Tamzarian, Skinner took on the identity of a fellow soldier during the war when the soldier was assumed dead.

Mad Men flashbacks anyone?

In the episode, the REAL Skinner returns to Springfield and attempts to take his life back, before the residents of the town decide they want the old Skinner and subsequently banish the real one by tying him to a freight train!

The last straw came when the episode ended and everyone agreed that they would forget about all the events that had transpired, and that's exactly what the show did! It was a veiled attempt at the "it was all a dream" cliché and fans promptly realised that The Simpson of old was dead and gone.

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
