Back before Dan Harmon made Community, before Jack Black was in High Fidelity, before Ben Stiller made Meet the Parents, and before Owen Wilson became, well, Owen Wilson, all four had collaborated on an acid-trip of a TV pilot called Heat Vision and Jack. Channelling an excessive amount of marijuana and affectionately riffing on Knight Rider, the Six Million Dollar Man, and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, the pilot involves Jack Black playing Jack, an astronaut who was exposed to too much solar energy thus granting him super-intelligence. Owen Wilson voiced Jack's talking motorcycle, which is really Jack's roommate who was hit with some weird ray and was subsequently merged into a motorbike. Together, Jack and his talking motorbike sidekick must stop Ron Silver (the actual actor) because he's the bad guy who has an acting passion for some reason. Yeah, all this absurdity was actually put to film and directed by none other than Ben Stiller. Despite the hefty comedy pedigree of its cast and crew, FOX weren't sold on the pilot nor its awesome concept and the pilot was sadly canned. Out of all the failed TV pilots on this list, Heat Vison and Jack had the potential to become something that was mind-boggling and awesome, so it is shame that only 1 episode worth of Heat Vision and Jack was made. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHvjcsELcjA
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
