5. Arrow
Green Arrow, one of DC's lesser known superheroes, gained popularity during Smallville's run and then was given his own series. Arrow though is not a spin off from Smallville, but rather an entirely new show with a vastly different Oliver Queen with a wide range of characters. Arrow presents a more realistic world where there are no super powered beings (at least not yet anyway). Back from being trapped on an island for five years, Oliver Queen becomes a vigilante in Starling City to right the wrongs of his father and family. He is the Green Arr I mean, 'The Hood'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azg5PinU2ao The first season got better with each episode and the finale was a truly surprising turn of events for the series. The flashbacks to the island were also some of the best material of the season and promise to become more intriguing as Oliver and Slade will eventually become enemies. The second season is also set to expand the world by introducing Amanda Waller, A.R.G.U.S. and, most of all, Barry Allen aka The Flash. The trailer for the upcoming season also hints at 'The Hood' nickname being changed in favour of his true name. It's certainly a season to look forward to.
