6. How I Met Your Mother
The longest love story in the history of television (or perhaps the longest love story being told to children. Seriously, how long have they been on that couch?) is finally coming to an end this year. With The Mother revealed in the last seconds of Season 8's finale, the moment where Ted finally meets her is edging closer and closer. Though I'll be watching the season with a lot of anticipation, it is not without a sense of trepidation as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOe4_kdqsmU Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have announced Season 9 will take place over the course of Barney and Robin's weekend wedding. This is exciting because of the new style the season will have, but introducing an entirely new format to the show in its final season is very risky. Will there be any room for filler episodes during this season or will it become necessary to watch each and every episode of the season to understand it all? Most sitcoms don't have a serialized plot, but rather an ongoing story which continues every few episodes so it will be interesting to see how How I Met deals with this.
