10 Famous Child Actors You Will No Longer Recognise

5. Peter Ostrum

No matter what someone€™s done in their life, you know that they€™ve succeeded when they have a moustache that magnificent. If you had any form of a childhood, then you probably know of Peter Ostrum thanks to his turn as Charlie Bucket in the vaguely nightmare-ish 1971 film of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Whilst Ostrum wasn€™t in any other films, Charlie Bucket is instantly identifiable as the lead in this film that has maintained its popularity, in the face of its complete insanity, criticism from Dahl himself, and that questionable remake in 2005. Despite becoming quite the recognisable child, Ostrum declined a three-film contract after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was over and didn€™t pursue an acting career. He received a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984, and has been a practicing vet ever since, living with his wife, two children, and spectacular facial hair.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
