7. Wayne Unser
FXThough he's bugged a number of fans due to his puppy dog relationship with Gemma over the past few seasons, Wayne Unser's general amicability has kept him deeply rooted in the series since day one. While his overall importance has oscillated throughout the seasons, he often finds himself as part of some fantastic moments, whether he's helping play a part in isolating Agent Stahl and Jimmy O'Phelan for their executions, sharing a genuine heart to heart with Tara or throwing it in Gemma's face that she's going to die alone. Unlike characters like Chibs or Tig, where Unser is going to end up by the end of the series seems far more unclear. Due to his inadvertent role in instigating Tara's death and his subsequent comforting of Gemma -- which makes it easy to question if Unser knows Tara is dead at that point, let alone that Gemma did it, considering he cared for Tara -- some fans would be happy to see Unser lying in a grave next to Gemma as soon as possible. Others, however, want to see Unser break free of Gemma's influence on him so that the latter will have no one there by her side when consequence comes calling. At the end of the day, Unser's heart is in the right place. As a cop, he knew the value of working with the Sons to keep drugs and other trouble out of Charming; as a man on his own, he's continually willing to help so long as no one innocent gets hurt. While that heart may continually find itself being played with by Gemma, Unser's not a bad guy and we can only hope that Gemma doesn't take him down with her, although it's highly possible that his series-long battle with cancer might finally catch up with him.
