3. Juice Ortiz
FXOf all the characters on the show, none have quite experienced the series-long change that Juice has undergone. For the first three seasons, Juice was more often than not a source of humor, whether he was earning the label of "Slightly Retarded Child," dealing with the consequences of feeding dogs crystal meth or being served up as sexual bait in prison to lure out an inmate under protective custody. Then came the show's fourth season, which found Juice headed down a darker path after Lincoln Potter and new Sheriff Eli Roosevelt manipulated him by threatening to expose his African-American roots, effectively scaring Juice into thinking his family of brothers would shun him if they found out. After killing Miles, unsuccessfully committing suicide and ultimately spiraling out of emotional control over the next two seasons due to Jax's manipulations of him, being forced to choose between his own life and Clay's and murdering the innocent mother Darvany under Jax's orders, Juice inadvertently confesses to Nero that he murdered Darvany. By season's end, Jax -- feeling betrayed by Juice -- informs Bobby and Chibs that he can no longer be trusted before letting Juice in on the fact he knows he told Nero, though he doesn't know Juice did it while drugged out. After Gemma kills Tara, Juice murders Roosevelt before going on to hide the evidence in dumpsters. With Roosevelt's murder and his covering for Gemma, who had been the only one truly in his corner without Clay around, many fans are ready to see Juice meet Mr. Mayhem. He's come a long way and fallen so far, which makes it hard to believe he's going to be disposed of very quickly when such time has been taken in crafting him one of the show's most intriguing, complicated personal storylines. Whether he goes on the run, becomes a suspect in Tara's death in the eyes of Jax, does a 180 and uses his knowledge of what really went down in the Teller kitchen in his favor or something else entirely, it's hard not to be excited to see what becomes of the Puerto Rican from Queens who knows better Yiddish than Spanish.
