10 Films From 2013 That Would Make Great TV Shows

6. Pacific Rim

Bryan Singer has already mentioned making a Pacific Rim influenced show called Creature At Bay with Syfy, and while a government agent spin off of an action film isn't the most original idea, audiences have an Agents of SHIELD filled hole that needs to be satisfied. Maybe a lower budget behind the scenes look at the Pacific Rim nations and the Jaeger bases, would be the answer, since Del Toro's summer blockbuster left its huge fan base wanting more of that world. We can't see any of this cast returning nor do they need to (although a cameo here and a reference there would be a nice fan service,) and if anyone would return to the smaller screen it would be the lightning duo of Dr. Newton Geiszler and Gottlieb played by It's Always Sunny's Charlie Day and Torchwood's Burn Gorman. Using the fan favourite scientific duo will mean this would have to carefully not go into Big Bang Theory territory - though clearly it wouldn't be a comedy. The world of Jaegar's and Kaiju's has so many possibilities and stories that would work as a spin-off: perhaps we could follow the Jaegar training process, or how the governments deal with the monsters in the pacific or the aftermath of the devastation, though of course fans of the movie would unlikely be appeased without some monster mayhem thrown in. A TV show is by no means a reason to not have sequels, the budget and the cast lists for Guillermo del Toro would obviously be much grander but perhaps TV will allow fans to indulge in some of the nuances.
