When Sheldon announced at the end of the first episode that he wanted to have coitus with Amy a little trumpet of triumph went off. Then barely a minute later it was a comedy wah wah wah waaaaahh. Let the man have sex for goodness sake! Amy isnt going to hang around too much longer if he doesnt. Everyone has already allowed Sheldon to change his focus and give classes, albeit only to Howard (more on that later). Giving him a sex drive would not only allow the character to grow, but would be absolutely hilarious. This season has had some questionable discussions about women being a distraction but if Sheldon finally popped his cherry after all these years it would doubtless have an effect on him. You could at least have a few episodes of him eschewing all work and thought to just indulge in sheer carnal pleasure with Amy. Maybe even a John Lennon, Yoko motif with him being controlled by his hormones and going all hippy. Leonard would have to reluctantly snap him back out of it. Whichever direction the writers choose to take it, giving Sheldon a sex drive will be a bigger source of comedy than the already dry well of asexuality. Especially if he turns out to enjoy it and be good at it.
