10 Forgotten Doctor Who Stories That Are Just As Good As 'The Classics'

9. The Two Doctors

091 I find it odd that this story isn't raved about slightly more as it is one of only three classic multi-Doctor stories, albeit the only one that isn't celebrating something. There isn't a big plot or an overly-powerful enemy. This is just a fun Doctor Who story in which the Sixth Doctor inadvertently stumbles upon an adventure containing his second incarnation. Again, criticism of this story is directed towards the monsters, although this time the it's established villains in the form of the Sontarans. The simple fact is that the costumes aren't right, it's plain to see that one of them is a good two foot too tall and the beards just look silly. But they're hardly in the first and third episodes and its certainly not a story about them, they just turn up and provide us with some of Robert Holmes' legendary dialogue in the form of other characters bitching about them. Any other negatives in this story are immediately made redundant by the presence of Patrick Troughton.
