10 Funniest Brooklyn Nine-Nine Characters
7. Jake Peralta
Throughout life you'll grow accustomed to the fact that there is a class clown in every institution, not only those of an educational nature. Even before the show's commencement, the rest of the employees at this particular Police Station have already pinpointed their very own version. Which is none other than Jake Peralta.
The most accurate way to describe Jake would be, in the immortal words of Terry Jeffords: "Jacob Peralta is my best detective. He likes putting away bad guys, and he loves solving puzzles. The only puzzle he hasn't solved is how to grow up."
Obviously, clowns are naturally supposed to be funny and, unlike in reality, that's actually a truthful statement here.
Jake Peralta, the spearhead of the show, the genius masquerading as an idiot and the "beef baby", is one of the Nine-Nine's best offerings when it comes to comedic value.
His one-liners, undying obsessiveness to perpetrate childish antics and his overall pleasantness, tied with his likability, just make even the silliest (and trust us, they are silly) remarks so much more digestible. Only on TV though, he would be a waking nightmare in the real NYPD.
