Gentle viewers...

Buffy is often as its best when it throws off the ties of convention and reality, venturing into the speculative, the surreal and the downright ridiculous - and, much to its credit, Storyteller takes this idea and runs.

A companion piece of sorts to season four's Superstar, ex-'supervillain' Andrew takes the reigns in the sixteenth episode of season seven, attempting to document the life of the slayer while getting under everyone's feet and playing fast and loose with the facts.

Romanticising both the present and past to hilarious degrees, Andrew imagines himself a pipe-smoking scholar as he tells such tall tales as how he led the Trio and stood up to Dark Willow.

Though the episode has a sombre ending, with Andrew finally facing up to his cowardice and ineptitude, there is a lot to love and laugh at before we get there - of which Spike retaking an aggressive threat in order to catch the right light, is a highlight.
