4. "Just checking...that"
If you've sadly not yet got the full context for the above scene, I beg you to nab a copy of the first season of Extras and get stuck in. Whilst the second season went a little crazy with guest stars being that everybody under the sun wanted a spot, season 1 still had some world-class talent, namely Kate Winslet. Winslet was playing a nun in the scene above, yet it was when offering phone-sex advice to main character Maggie that she got a little carried away with the reenactment, only to then be discovered by Maggie's boyfriend at the time. The timing on this scene is impeccable, with Winslet and Gervais trading off acting out various rude gestures behind the back of the aforementioned boyfriend, only for him to turn around and catch Winslet in the act. Gervais has said multiple times that he couldn't believe what such well-respected actors let them get away with putting in the script, and the fact that after holding the above pose for a few seconds she then mimes putting the phone down, it was another genius moment that many would bump up to number 1.
