10 Futurama Episodes Probably Made Out Of Spite

2. Three Hundred Big Boys (S4E16)

Futurama A Taste Of Freedom

When everyone on Earth is gifted $300 by President Nixon, members of the Planet Express team are stumped as to what to do with their riches.

The episode makes plenty of jokes regarding some of the multimillionaires on Earth, as well as the way that powers of the world just like to throw money at their problems.

Zoidberg decides to spend his cut on feeding the poor and is promptly referred to as the Oysters Rockefeller. This particular joke has two possible interpretations. One is a reference to the fact that Zoidberg himself is a crustacean and ties in with the seafood dish known as oysters rockefeller. The other interpretation links to the well-known real estate mogul by the name of John D. Rockefeller, who was known as one of the wealthiest men in US history at the time the episode was created.

Three Hundred Big Boys comments subtly on the issues with capitalism and how $300 can mean so much to some people and so little to others. With tycoons such as Rockefeller making up 1.5% of the US economy, it seem a little unfair that so many are left starving at the end of the day.
