Nope, he doesn't sit at the top of the tree, but Jon Snow's death is certainly one of the most distressing moments in the show's history. I completely believe the writers, creators, actors and actresses when they say that Jon was killed. As of this moment in time, he is 100% dead and gone. Rumours, quotes and set pictures continue to emerge suggesting that it's not the definitive end for him, but right now, he's dead. There's a small part of me that thinks definitively ending Jon's chance of a comeback in the Season 6 Premiere would be the most shocking thing they could possibly do. It would end his enormous potential, the importance of his parentage, the fact that he could leave the Wall now his 'watch has ended', and even his entitlement to the Stark name. Letting that all go to waste would be criminal, but it would be pure Thrones. A comeback looks increasingly likely, but if not, Jon would leap to the front of the queue.
