10 Game Of Thrones Characters Who Died Way Too Soon

1. Robb Stark

The Red Wedding is the most iconic scene in the entirety of Game of Thrones. It defined the series and took it to a whole new level. When you consider the significance of what actually happens, it's completely staggering. It's only when you re-watch the first three seasons that you realise just how many big storylines and characters came to a crushing end, none greater than Robb Stark himself. Talisa and her unborn Stark child's deaths were tragic, Catelyn's was despairing, and Robb's was utterly world-shifting. It ousted Roose Bolton as a traitor, Walder Frey as an even greater coward than first thought, it displayed Tywin Lannister's cunning and might, while it also abruptly ended the Northern march down to King's Landing. That was a colossal event, gathering troops from across the North and galvanising them into a true rebellion, and so much time and effort was invested into it, to be undone in a heartbeat. The subsequent shifts in power made for good storylines, but Robb launching an assault on King's Landing would've been an incredible feat to witness. He was a major, major, major player in the game, and he lost it all.
