9. Stannis Baratheon

The Mannis looked down and out in the Season 5 finale. He was conveniently the only man to survive from that section of his army, but Brienne swept along and seemingly put a definitive end to his insane journey that has seen the 'rightful heir' crumble against the walls of King's Landing, flee back to Dragonstone, sail beyond the Wall, rescue the Night's Watch from 100,000 wildlings, sacrifice his own sweet daughter and drive his wife to suicide. Apart from all of that, it was a pleasant ride for Stannis Baratheon, but in the books, that ride lasts longer. He's still alive in A Song Of Ice And Fire as things stand, which made his on-screen demise even more shocking. Brienne swung her sword, so we're left to assume his head rolled like Ned, but until we see a corpse, the rumours will persist, regardless of what the showrunners and cast say...
