10 Games Of Thrones Actors You Recognise But Can't Place

5. Josef Altin - Pypar

Pypar is a steward in the Night's Watch, a young man sent to the Wall for refusing the sexual advances of a great lord while working in his castle. He's a good friend to Jon Snow, and tends to have an optimistic viewpoint (well, as optimistic as any man can be while trapped in what is essentially a sausage fest in Siberia). Pyp is played by Josef Altin, a young English actor who has had roles of a similar size on a number of television shows, but usually plays characters of a slightly different temperament (read: ABSOs). He was featured in a small but memorable role on E4's Misfits, where he played the quick-tempered Gary. He was a bit of a Red Shirt, to be honest -- the character was doing his community service with the rest of the gang in the pilot, only to be violently murdered by a recently powered-up probation worker in the very first episode. Nonetheless, he made an impression, and has been working consistently since then.
