10 Great DC Comics Characters The Arrowverse Has Totally Wasted
1. Kid Flash
To many fans, Wally West IS the Flash. With Barry Allen being canonically dead for thirty years, Wally was the Fastest Man Alive for a very long tenure in the comics and it was fantastic to see him growing from sidekick to a super-powerful speedster over time. When The Flash TV series got around to introducing him, he could have stolen the spotlight away from Barry Allen.
Except, in the end, there wasn't any danger of that. When he was introduced in season two, Wally - an amalgamation of both the classic character and The New 52 version - was far from the loveable jokester of the comics. Instead he was a whiny, unwanted addition to the West clan. Eventually, this was toned down as Wally's interest in heroism came out and in season three he finally got speedster powers and became Kid Flash.
Wally has come pretty far since he first appeared on the show, then, but he is still a far weaker character than he should be. That's not to blame Keiynan Lonsdale here at all, as he does his best with what he is given.
With Barry currently in the Speed Force, let's hope that season four sees Wally grow even more and become the brilliant hero we know from the comics. If that doesn't happen, Kid Flash will remain the Arrowverse's most tragically wasted character.
