10 Great Horror TV Shows You Can Binge-Watch In One Sitting
7. Friday The 13th: The Series
Following the monster craze of the 1980s, the masterminds behind the Friday the 13th film franchise decided to extend their reach to television in 1987. Unlike its silver screen counterparts, however, Friday the 13th died once the '90s rolled around. A large part of the show's downfall was because it was disconnected from the films. While a new audience came around to the new horror stories contained in Friday the 13th: The Series, hardcore fans of the movies were disappointed by the absence of Jason.
It's easy to see why a show named after Friday the 13th might lead people to expect Mr Vorhees, but what the show offered was much more interesting than the slasher flicks that lost their luster as years passed.
Friday the 13th: the Series centered around the relatives of an antique shop owner who inherited the store after the original owner mysteriously died. The truth behind the original owner was that he made a pact with the devil to sell cursed goods and didn't hold up his end of the bargain. After his demise, his relatives were forced to find the cursed objects one by one. Each episode focused on one of the objects, creating an anthology of unique horror stories that ran for only three seasons with a digestible length of less than 45 minutes each.
