10 GREAT TV Shows You Can't Watch Anymore

For an entire generation of otaku, Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) is considered one of the greatest anime ever. Despite straying off from the manga's original story, FMA '03 still turned in a story that stayed true to the thematic spine of the manga, while giving its own interpretation. This darker, melancholic, and ultimately tragic take on Hiromu Arakawa's masterpiece - while divisive with die hard fans - received well-earned acclaim.

Unfortunately, actually watching this beloved anime classic is easier said than done.

You see, Studio Bones did both versions of FMA, and of the two, FMA Brotherhood is the more faithful adaptation. It also holds the record for the longest time spent at the top of Anime News Network's Top Rated Anime List, only recently being bumped down to second place. With all this being said, it's little wonder that Aniplex couldn't be bothered to renew the license to the original anime.

With DVD prices only climbing with every year, and nowhere to watch it legally on streaming, this once dearly beloved anime has been allowed to fall into obscurity in favor of the newer version.
