10 Great TV Shows You Didn't Watch In 2019
Goblins, robots, creeps, blind warriors, you missed out on all this and more.
Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, DCUniverse, Shudder, AppleTV+, iPlayer, All4, there were so many TV platforms in 2019, each with a plethora of original content. Shows were and still are being dropped on us seasons at a time every week.
There’s the major releases that we all know about, Stranger Things, The Mandalorian, The Man in the High Castle, the list goes on and on. But what about the shows we don’t know about? The smaller releases that don’t get as much traction as the ones with Henry Cavill beating giant spiders to death with his bare fists?
Just past the valley of women’s prisons, wild west theme parks, small towns with big mysteries, and cities decimated by nuclear fallout lies gold in the hills. The shows that sit in the shadows of the ones you talk about by the water cooler. The shows that try something different and deserve a better chance.
10. Hellier
Following a bizarre lead from a man claiming he and his family are being harassed by goblins, a small team of paranormal investigators head to the coal mining town of Hellier in the hopes of solving an age-old mystery.
This documentary series follows the team to a town soaking in intrigue where the locals are untrusting and the mysteries are vast. Much like a found footage horror film, this show really plunges the viewer into the investigation, creating a feeling of rapport with the team. You won’t be able to shake the feeling that something terrible and fantastical could happen at any moment, despite it being rooted in reality. This show will make you believe in goblins and change the way you look at the woods.
Originally showing only on YouTube, Hellier flew well under the radar, but with its upload to Amazon Prime Video and release of season 2 it will hopefully get the viewership it deserves.
