10 Greatest Episodes Of The Muppet Show

7. Season 2, Episode 24 (Cloris Leachman)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9NaSMp8muY €œPigs may have taken over, but there€™s one thing that hasn€™t changed€it€™s still not funny€-Statler After being served a vegetarian meal that questions the herbivore adage €œI don€™t eat anything with a face€, Cloris Leachman takes the stage and gets quite the surprise. Maybe the farm animals feel empowered by Leachman€™s vegetarianism, or maybe the producers just needed a way to make Season 2€™s finale memorable, but in this episode, the classic Muppets that viewers love get locked in the Muppet Theatre€™s boiler room and the show is usurped by pigs€”green pigs, singing pigs, pigs big enough to pass as Sweetums (this all leaves Miss Piggy quite conflicted, as she€™s free to leave the boiler room to perform, but doesn€™t want to betray Kermit). Many of the show€™s usual skits are transformed into porcine equivalents, such as Vegetraian€™s Hospital and a cooking show by the Swedish Pig. In the end, Leachman rescues the Muppets via a simple diversion: she holds a hog calling contest.
