10 Greatest Episodes Of The Muppet Show

8. Season 2, Episode 14 (Elton John)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol9EEa6MNHA "I have seen some pretty weird guests on this show, but this...Elton John...borders on revolutionary! Why does he dress like a stolen car?"-Sam the Eagle After the initial season's success, The Muppet Show was able to draw in more current celebrities. Dressed in brightly-colored feathers decades before Cee-lo fronted another Muppet group, Elton John looks right at home fronting The Electric Mayhem as they perform "Crocodile Rock" in a jungle. He later gets to perform €œBenny and the Jets€ with the show€™s flamboyantly-frocked cast , and his performance of €œDon€™t Go Breakin My Heart€ with Miss Piggy is just as heartfelt, if not as euphonious, as any duet of it performed with Kiki Dee. These skits and performances are punctuated with scenes of the Swedish Chef chasing a chicken who keeps laying ping pong balls instead of eggs; he€™s decided that instead of making Egg Du Chef, he will make Chicken Du Chef, but in the end it is the chicken who wields the meat cleaver (the show almost always finds a way to make the underdog win)
