10 Greatest Ever Community "Concept" Episodes

If any other TV sitcom did a zombie episode, it would likely be a Treehouse of Horror type deal, or a dream sequence... not Community. Community is the sitcom that did a genuine zombie episode with genuine repercussions throughout the rest of the series. Sure, Shirley potentially having a little Chang baby isn’t the kind of repercussion you might expect from a zombie infestation, but we take what we can get.

There isn’t much about this episode that isn’t gold. Abba playing on repeat while the zombies attack (intertwined with the Dean’s voice memos of course) is almost enough to give that brilliant Queen scene from Shaun of the Dead a run for its money, while Troy being the “first black man to make it to the end” paired with his hilariously awful idea to fight off the horde of zombies in a suit made of cardboard is just one of the million reasons fans adore Donald Glover as Troy Barnes. 

Then there are the inspired Halloween costumes that serve to heighten the ridiculousness of these Greendale zombies, such as an infected Doctor Rich attacking in his banana suit, or Britta in that weird dinosaur/lizard/whatever outfit. Even when Greendale do a zombie infestation, they do it like idiots.
