10 Greatest Ever TV Alternate Universes

6. Seinfeld - "The Bizarro Jerry"

Bizarro Superman was the first to coin the concept of a Bizarro world, and popular culture hasn't been the same since. Basically, in the Bizarro world, there are all the same characters, but they're the exact opposite of what they would be in the regular world. For example, Bizarro Superman is evil. Bizarro Miley Cyrus would be, like, a librarian or something. Normally you would only see the Bizarro alternate universe trope in science fiction or fantasy, but interestingly enough, Seinfeld used it to great effect in one episode. Elaine meets Bizarro Jerry, George, and Kramer (they're called Kevin, Gene, and Feldman). And that's really all you need to make comedy gold. They're similar to the real gang, but complete opposites in terms of personality. Jerry's counterpart Kevin is a great friend, unlike Jerry, who will really only do things for people if there's something in it for him (and even then he drags his feet and complains loudly.) Gene aka Bizarro George is quiet, well-dressed, and willing to spend a little money once in a while. And get this: Feldman actually knocks on Kevin's door before entering, and even brings groceries with him. Despite the fact that this is first and foremost a 30 minute comedy, the production team really commits to the concept. They even go so far as to make Kevin's apartment a reverse image of Jerry's -- everything is exactly the same, but backwards.
