Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson have been performing together for over 30 years, so it's no surprise that their delightfully chaotic comedy routine runs like a well-oiled machine. They first started getting attention for their Dangerous Brothers act, which led to 1980s classic The Young Ones. This manic, surreal comedy starred Mayall and Edmondson as young, scrappy university students alongside Nigel Planer, Christopher Ryan, and Alexei Sayle. It only ran for two series, but in that short time managed to cement its place in pop culture, largely due to Mayall and Edmondson's frenetic style. After The Young Ones ended, they worked on two more shows together: the short-lived Filthy Rich and Catflap (which also featured Nigel Planer) and the beloved Bottom. Apart, they're good comedians, but together they're a national treasure. Unfortunately, although there were plans to bring back their Bottom characters last year for Hooligan's Island, a television adaptation of a comedy special with the same name, Edmondson pulled out to pursue other interests. What's that all about, Ade? Not to bring you down or anything, but you're being a really selfish negative vibe merchant.
