10 Greatest Minor Scrubs Characters

7. Dr. Seymour Beardfacé

A handful of long-serving extras to Scrubs were rewarded for their longstanding commitment to the show with supporting appearances in a handful of episodes. One of these was Geoff Stevenson’s Dr. Beardface, who much like Colonel Doctor, Randall the security guard and Snoop Dogg Intern was given a character solely based on his physical appearance, in his case his voluminous beard.

Angrily insisting to anybody that pronounced his last name as it was spelt that it was in fact pronounced ‘beard-fuh-say’, Beardfacé was easily riled by colleagues and patients alike. Despite being a one-note joke, it was spread out enough across seasons to remain consistently funny.

A writer and illustrator rather then actor, the Australian Stevenson only has three other credits to his name outside of Scrubs, having popped up in The West Wing and How I Met Your Mother in the roles of ‘Man at Party’ and ‘Man At Table’. His appearance as a surgeon in 24 stands out from these, as despite being silent and uncredited, the character of Beardface was well established by this point and led to instant recognition by Scrubs fans.

Would he have had the bottle to tell an angry Jack Bauer that its ‘beard-fuh-say, damnit!’?

Alex was about to write a short biography, but he got distracted by something shiny instead.
