The Clone Wars introduced many new characters, such as Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, but Asajj Ventress is an alumni of the original Star Wars: Clone Wars series, which has since been integrated into Legends. Though her initial time was short, Ventress didn't fail to leave an impression and The Clone Wars developed her into one of the most complex villains in the franchise.

From being an assassin for Count Dooku to a leader of the Nightsisters, Ventress has had quite the journey on the show. Despite all of her turbulent adventures that came before, in addition to the ones that come ahead, it's this middle, more subdued chapter that marks a real turning point for the everyone's favourite Nightsister.

Lost without the Nighsisters and her old life, Ventress tries to settle into a new career as a bounty hunter, taking a job with a young Boba Fett and Bossk. As one could expect with these less than heroic figures, the mission becomes riddled with deception and dysfunction, making it thrilling to watch.

What makes the episode one of the best is Ventress' decision, having found out that the cargo they are transporting is a young girl, to release her into the care of her brother, who had organised a raid on the train. It may seem like a small thing, but it's little glimpses of compassion like this that brought new light to the lady of darkness.

That doesn't mean that Ventress has completely shed her old skin though. Tying up Boba, Ventress secretly delivers him instead in the cargo trait, collecting all of the profit for the delivery. A hilarious moment that begins a new life for one of the franchise's greatest characters.
