10 Greatest Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episodes That Changed Everything

6. Lair Of Grievous

Although The Clone Wars is acclaimed now, its first two series weren't exactly anything special. Lacking the complexity of later seasons, much of the joy that can be extrapolated from the start lies in its action and atmosphere, which is what Lair of Grievous does so well.

Sent on a mission to defeat General Grievous, who has been injured once and for all, Kit Fisto and his former Padawan (now Jedi Knight) Nahdar Vebb navigate Grievous' secret lair with the assistance of a Clone Squadron. The episode works quickly to build its horror tone, with nightmarish imagery, the harrowing reality of Grievous' cyborg resistance, as well as many traps. Needless to say that not everyone can make it out alive.

While Grievous received criticism for his cowardly portrayal in Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars - in contrast to his Terminator-esque depiction in the original Clone Wars series - Lair of Grievous reestablishes the renowned villain as a threat not to be taken lightly.

Moreover, Kit Fisto, who is criminally underrepresented in The Clone Wars, is displayed with all the wisdom and combat prowess one would expect from a Jedi Master.
