10 Greatest Unspoken TV Plot Points
2. Did Scarlet Witch Kill Someone? - WandaVision
No property does Easter eggs like Marvel. Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe is based on a 60-year-old comic series, every film and TV show is overstuffed with references to the source material. And Disney+'s first new MCU series, WandaVision, is no exception. The Bova milk commercial makes a reference to Wanda's carer in the comics when she was a baby. The White Vision is a nod to how the character was supposed to look when he debuted.
Injokes like this can be regarded as harmless fan-service and shouldn't be overanalysed to death. But there are some subtle details which allude to something far more sinister. In the intro to the second episode, a helmet and bones can be seen hidden under Wanda's floorboards. Any casual Marvel reader who spotted this will recognise this head-gear belongs to the supervillain, The Grim Reaper. If you're up to date with your comic lore, you'll know that Vision's wife in the comics, a synthetic being called Virginia, murdered the Grim Reaper and buried the scythe-wielding criminal in the backyard.
So, what does this mean? Did Scarlet Witch murder Reaper to maintain her family? Did Vision kill him? Now, it's totally possible this blink-and-you-will-miss-it moment was just a visual gag. But as we all know, the MCU have a habit of making seemingly innocuous references that pay off years later.
