8. Twin Peaks
You'll have to bear with me on this, as I have never watched the show. It seems to slip further and further down my laundry list, however, while I have not seen it, I have seen it all over the internet, cropping up next to phrases such as "unforgivable ending" or "lack of resolution." Without approaching spoilers, I have learnt that Twin Peaks was a highly mysterious television show that began with the murder of an FBI agent. However, I have gathered that after its 2 season run that many loose threads were left hanging, so a movie was produced. Sounds good, right? Well, the movie was a prequel, and apparently lent no clarity to the ambiguous ending of the television show. Seems like it was definitely cancelled too soon, though as with many of the others on this list, has gone on to become a cult classic. Being praised for it's strong atmosphere and blending of traditional genres such as horror, drama, thriller and science fiction, Twin Peaks unresolved ending, rather than deterring viewers, has only made the show more enticing, as people seem to wonder at the questions themselves, and how they could of provoked such a response from viewers.
