10 Horrifically Violent TV Character Deaths That Traumatised The Fans

9. Battlestar Galactica - Dee's Suicide

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEDjAFi7oJ4 Anastasia Dualla, or Dee as she was known by many, was a major supporting character on Battlestar Galactica. She ran communications on the ship, but more than that, she was able to steer both William and Lee Adama in the right direction whenever they lost faith in their abilities. Dee was even married to Lee for most of the show's later seasons, though they separated briefly. Despite her rather brutal honesty in regards to the Adama men, she was always a somewhat optimistic character who held a high amount of respect and faith in her husband and father figure, which makes her suicide all the more shocking. After the discovery that the mythological Earth is nothing but a nuclear wasteland, the entire Colonial fleet spiraled into despair as their refuge from the Cylons became a broken dream. Dee had a momentary breakdown, but seemed to bounce back after that by reconciling with Lee and being very happy despite the circumstances. As soon as she was in private, though, she pulled out a gun and shot herself in the head without any hesitation. While not quite as brutal as many other deaths on the list, viewers saw both blood and brains splatter against her locker, a level of graphicness not usually seen in Battlestar. Her suicide happened so quickly and unexpectedly that the audience had absolutely no time to process her actions until after she pulled the trigger. SciFi's unwise decision to air a commercial where crackers fall into bowls of soup and splatter the table immediately after Dee's suicide makes this death all the more traumatic. Watch it above.
