4. Veronica Mars - Veronica Mars
There's something inherently adorable about the whole Nancy Drew routine, especially when it's been amped up to Kristen Bell's Veronica Mars level. She's sharp as a tack, attending Neptune High while working a fairly auspicious after school job as a private investigator with her father. Although she's undeniably gorgeous and funny, she's an outcast at her school, due to a series of horrifying events (murder, rape, alcoholism, parental abandonment, loss of economic and social status...you know, normal stuff) that led the popular crowd to drop her like a bad habit. The fact that she's equal parts determined and vulnerable made her an incredibly endearing character -- so popular, in fact, that fans famously picked up the tab on Kickstarter to bring the show back as a feature film.
