Who is Gossip Girl? That's what everyone wanted revealed in the series finale of this madly popular teen drama, and although they got an answer, it wasn't exactly a big hit, and neither were its seriously cheesy execution and unsubtle cameos.
Before the reveal comes up, Kristen Bell - the show's narrator and the iconic voice of Gossip Girl throughout the show - cameos as herself alongside actress Rachel Bilson, as the pair read for an audition. This is tacky and not nearly as amusing as the show thinks it is, but their cameos lead to the shocker that Dan is Gossip Girl.
In a voiceover that's now creepily reminiscent of You, Dan explains his actions, but he needn't have bothered. By this point, the damage was done, the plotholes were made, and the show's entire identity was ruined. Who said last act twists needed to make sense?
