10 Hyped 2020 TV Shows ALREADY Cancelled

In May of this year, Marvel announced a pair of dark, horror-tinged series collectively dubbed "Spirits Of Vengeance" and "Adventures Into Fear". Helstrom and Ghost Rider would be joining their TV universe, and both shows were due to air on the more adult-oriented Disney-owned streaming platform Hulu in 2020.

While not a direct spinoff from Agents Of SHIELD, Ghost Rider would still play off the popularity of the character's incarnation as a guest star on that show, with Gabriel Luna returning as Robbie Reyes. The new series, however, would have the freedom to explore a sinister supernatural world darker and more horrific than previously seen in Marvel properties.

While Helstrom is still on the Marvel-Hulu slate, however (for now, at least), the comics giant's TV arm announced in September that they would not be going forward with Ghost Rider.

With Marvel gaining access to the screen rights to a whole host of their comics characters after Disney's purchase of Fox and the launch of Disney+ coming with its own more high profile Marvel shows, there simply isn't a place for Ghost Rider in the TV universe any more.

This feels like just another step in the winding down of the Marvel TV universe, with their Netflix shows already over, Cloak & Dagger cancelled and Agents of SHIELD about to enter its final season.
