Friends Opening
NBC

We all love to binge watch our favourite television programmes over and over again. It’s possible over time, you’ve become so good at bulk viewings that you’re able to finish an entire television series, one which probably has over two hundred episodes, in just one week.

A great way to make the process slightly quicker is to skip over the opening credits because you’re too familiar with it and it can get a little bit repetitive. However, there are just some TV shows in which the theme music is so thoroughly engaging, that you can’t bring yourself to skip it.

It could be the infectious melody, or the inescapably catchy lyrics, or the tone it sets up for the rest of the episode, but you know for a fact you’re going to bask in the intro and hum along to it… every. single. time.

For the following television intros, they’ve cemented their place in pop culture because they’re just so enjoyable and memorable. No matter how old they are, we are never going to forget them.

And just as a warning, they may get stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

10. That '70s Show

Over the years, That ‘70s Show has become a bit of a cult classic within the realms of sitcoms. It’s not quite considered the ultimate greatest of comedies but it certainly has a large, dedicated fanbase. The series works well because it evokes the feeling of nostalgia – both in terms of the 1970s era as well as the feeling of being young and rebellious.

And after all, the theme song perfectly embodies the joys of carefree youth. Those lyrics “Hanging out, down the street. The same old thing we did last week” are almost impossible not to join in with every time. They are a reminder of how much fun it is being a teenager with very little responsibility.

As you hear that infectious rock n’ rock intro once again, you know that you're about to witness another outlandish misadventure with all your favourite burn-outs.
