10 Incredible Horror TV Shows With No Jump Scares
9. Harper’s Island
Here we have Harper’s island, a short lived horror mystery series that became a bit of a sleeper hit in 2009.
The show follows an ensemble cast that travels to the titular location for a wedding only to get embroiled in a mystery behind a serial killer from seven years ago. With a killer among them, the tension rises and family secrets are revealed leading to a climactic revelation very unique to television at the time, a real winner for those who enjoy a good slow burn.
With a death or two every episode, the show is nostalgic of late 90s, early 2000s teen slasher movies and feels as though it could be a spiritual TV adaptation of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
There are gruesome and creative kills which would make Michael Myers crack a smile and though the violence is set to a minimum to keep it suitable for TV, it is presented in a resourceful way which loses none of its impact.
