8. The Outsider
The first entry on this list based on a Stephen King novel of the same name, the Outsider is another short lived series with a strong cast behind it.
The series begins as a simple crime drama which follows an investigation into a young boy’s murder but very quickly spirals into a supernatural dance party with more than a handful of scary creatures to contend with.
Each fully fleshed out and interesting character deals with their own personal demons while being harassed by the likes of a deformed man, doppelgangers, unseen ghostly entities and even the damn boogeyman.
The series has been acclaimed for its acting and the execution of adapting the novel and is certainly worthy of the legendary novelist who created this crazy place. Effectively balancing tension and storytelling is no easy feat but it's accomplished here in very scary style.
