10 Incredible Unaired TV Shows You'll Never Get To See

2. Star Trek Phase II

Star Trek Phase 2 Following a selection of failed attempts at transferring Star Trek to the silver screen, Phase II was dreamt as a second five-year mission for the Enterprise and her crew. Ok, so the production didn't get all that far before being abandoned, although pre-production had more than gotten underway before it folded. Sets were built, deals to bring back much of the original cast were sealed (minus Leonard Nimoy, apparently annoyed by Gene Roddenberry's showing of blooper reals during conventions), test footage was shot and around thirteen scripts had been produced. Work came to a standstill following the demise of Paramount Television Service, the network that would have been airing the series. However, following the success of Star Wars and Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Sci-fi suddenly became a big draw at the box office again and as such, Phase II's pilot episode In Thy Image was adapted into Star Trek: The Motion Picture, directly responsible for kick-starting Star Treks entire silver screen presence. Despite the series not being seen as canon (as it was never filmed) there's still many an hour that can be whittled away wondering how it would have played out. Because it's not like we have lives to live or anything right?
