1. Heat Vision & Jack
Ok, so you knew this was coming. Probably the most well-known of the many un-aired projects that failed to materialize is this hunk of deep fried brilliance. At the tail end of the 90s Ben Stiller, Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab plotted a series that simply choked so loudly on its on ludicrous, bizarre and incredible potential that absolutely no network would come within fifty feet of it. Playing like some 80s Chuck Norris action series that had been force-fed its own drug addled brain, the show centred around a rogue astronaut (Jack Black) capable of becoming the smartest man in the world when exposed to sunlight and his sentient motorcycle sidekick (voiced by Owen Wilson) trying to escape Ron Silver (playing himself) a seemingly indestructible agent of NASA who just happens to moonlight as an actor (yes, you read that correctly). Since FOX passed on it, the show has gone onto become something of a cult favourite. However, despite Harmon's success with Community and the fact that Black, Wilson and Stiller now command much more clout than they did back when this was made, the passing of Ron Silver and the fact that the show was developed so long ago means that Heatvision & Jack is probably never going amount to anything more than a fantastically idiotic what-could-have-been.
